Tomorrow

Robert Berry

Stare at the ceiling
That one small white light
Somewhere inside me, I knew
I'd be facing tonight
If someone had told me
The price I would pay
The hearts I would shatter
The long lonely hours
I'd lie here awake

What kind of man am I?
So many wounds left to mend
I could have changed everything
Opened my eyes
Seen the light at the end

But not looking back
Across my shoulders
The games that I used to play
On those nights that
Tomorrow wasn't the day

Growin' up wasn't easy
Thought I was tough
Just an angry boy
Livin' my life by the minute
But in the morning
What will I do?

Explained to everyone
What time was worth in my eyes
Just couldn't stand thinking
My life would end
Without telling my side

But now all that's close
Are the walls of this room
And all I can count on
Is seeing the one man
Who brings me my doom

Growin' up wasn't easy
Thought I was tough
Just an angry boy
Livin' my life by the minute
But in the morning
What will I do?

What I wanted
Was so hard to find
Rough and restless
The world seemed so blind

A man with an empty heart
Trapped like a soldier with nowhere to run
My dreams had been torn apart
I had to find what was mine with a gun

A man with an empty heart
Livin' for no one, I'd die on a dare
Thinking that I was smart
With no feelings
Thinking that I could never really care

Growin' up wasn't easy
Thought I was tough
Just an angry boy
Livin' my life by the minute
But in the morning
What will I do?

What will I do?
