the words fly like fists
across my front lawn
as the day is long
i seek
from the cradle to my room
my mothers breast to her womb
the lap of the gods to the moon
i seek

as our worlds collide
in a late-night show
it's a devastating loss
i know all too well

from the bossom of my hometown
