Staring At The Fire
My old blue car
The passenger seat
On that mountain drive
Tunneled by trees
The air’s so cool up here
Your eyes were alive
There’s fish in the creek
You brought the forest floor in with your dirty feet
Oh the creeping fog is creepin in
Winter came with her clouds
Parted for one night the curtains
Pulled to reveal the stars,
Strangers became friends beside the fire
We sat there for hours…
What I wouldn't give just to go back in time
Not every day, but today would be nice,

Just staring at the fire
We’d swim out
To where feet can’t touch
The old dam, floating on our backs
There’s no rules out here
Summer came with her rays
Heating up the sand, our towels,
We left down on the bank,
Strangers became friends out in the wild,
We’d swim there for hours…
