Mea Culpa
When all the heroes of the world stand up to fight
It never makes a difference
They may as well accept their destiny in life
No-one will come to their defence
And how much suffering could justify these words?
There would terror in our houses if no other voice was heard
I've been guilty of despairing of the world
Mea Culpa, I won't say another word
Somebody shut me up
'cause here it comes again
This time I promise to take care
Cut out my tongue cause it's more trouble that it's worth
But I can feel it, it's still there
Though it's true, many others disagree
There is more to life than this
At least it feels that way to me
I think I've done all that I could
But they're still baying for my blood
I know that it could never make a difference
Mea Culpa, I won't say another word
Though it seems contrived and a pitiful defence
But it'll taken down and it'll be used in evidence
I go on for you, for me, for years
