Real Career

I got my GED, I took my SAT
I'm going to ITT
I'm gonna have a real career
Down and out of luck
Down to my last luck
A voice said
"Hey, meet Chuck, a diesel mechanic
And a darn good one"

Out of school, money spent
Everywhere that I went
They said
"Sorry kid, no experience
No training, no job!"
Auto or diesel man
Doing the best I can
Got a fun weekend planned
I'm gonna be all that I can be

Ivy tech, what a deal
Dental assisting field
My friends all said "get real"
I told them, "I already did"
"Being a heating and air conditioning specialist
Has got me more than I expеcted out of education"
It's got me a career

You might call mе a
No good going nowhere
A dropout
Yeah a loser
But while you're studying the past
I'll be working on the future

"What if I don't want 4 more years of school?"
"What if I can't afford 4 years of college?"
"What if I don't get the classes I want?"
"What if- what if I don't get a job?"
