BLANKET OF STARS

Blanket Of Stars

WRITTEN BY: TONY D. ANDERSON

Say so what, say so long
Mental handicap, left it, dead and gone
Champion clown, a man, a monkey or machine
Crack on the highway, blown apart at the seams

There’s Ginger and Jasmine, carburetor’s overdrive
They got one master plan, it’s how they stay alive
There’s somethin’ now, somethin’ y’all should know
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes on the show

Rugged country, take you by surprise
Everyday somethin’ fades, somethin’ dies
Sometimes it gets so hot, feels like you’re livin’ on the sun
You can’t kill crazy, but ya try to get it done

Bend over backwards, but you can’t make a dent
Butterflies and broken wheels, everyone’s paying rent
A heart abused or a heart unused
Dandelion wine, which one would ya choose?

Strange exchange, only the dead without fear
Pollutions on the brain, so ya gotta steer clear
Live your own life, cuz ya die your own death
Search for solid ground, till you take your last breath

Was it worth it to go, was it worth it to stay?
You found out, when you got out, all the way

Life and love, sometime’s ya gotta look far
Look up above, at the blanket of stars
