The men of these long, unconquered islands
Farmers, city gents, laborer's, minors, artisans, clerks (1940)
So long as men remember and facts remain on record
This will stand as a year unique (1940)
Not only by it's supreme crisis but by flavor of life
As the common man lived it

I'm growing careless of my dress
