Is it dawn or is it dread
Waking up is just great
Stepping out into an early sun
what's new about today.
Well, the universe it tipped a bit &
left me with half a share
And the children are throwing rocks again
at the animals right there

And the voices from the past who say the future will be kinder
They live in all our memories, just some of us need reminding
I'm glad I didn't stay in bed in a bitter embrace
