The Antidote
I met her at a Bad Religion show
She seemed to understand what most people don't know
I did my best to stay right by her side
The years went by we tried and tried and tried
The eyes are all around
Some want to push inside and some look down
Once in a life you find a precious soul
And then you learn your heart has no control
"I have found the antiote
For this poison life"
That was all she wrote
There are no words left to say
To bring her face a smile to make it all OK
The walls are closing in
No matter how we play we never win
Even our favorite stars come crashing down
And we can't see their light it's underground
We hit this world alone
Even if we find someone, a home
We know that it will be torn away
And we will be alone again, someday
Maybe life is a test
To see who really sins
And we fight and compete for the gold then find out that nobody wins
Maybe this is a dream
And we wait to be woke
And we cry and we scream to find out in the end it's all just a joke
