And the Earth Has Rested
This planet we have violated
All the species we've eradicated
To our convenience domesticated
It seems our greed knows no bounds
Entombed in our ivory towers
As nature rejuvenates
And the earth has rested
Humanity is tested
We’re caged and vested
Virtual reality as casket
A comfort zone
For years we've nested
And the earth has rested
We will not learn until it hurts and scars us
This fateful spring the lesson starts
Earth will find a way to dethrone us
Poetic justice has arrived at last
We've been gifted this mirror to hinder our raging decadence
It’s time for introspection
There is a crownless reflection
The madness between the four walls of our isolation shouldn't be in vain
Shouldn't be in vain!
We've crossed the oceans, our towers kiss the skies
We worship idols as mother nature cries
Here to remind us how fragile are our lives
We are decrowned as this calamity arrives
And the earth has rested
Humanity is tested
We're caged and vested
Virtual reality as casket
A comfort zone
For years we've nested
And the earth has rested
