Colors
[Verse 1]
The last wash of ink in the skies still lingered
And the smells of evening had already arrived
Night has a different smell than day
And this in between time is sometimes confusing
The orange of wood burning came from the new sun direction
And I followed it
Keeping watch for danger from the sky
The orange of wood grew stronger and stronger
There was a clearing and a cabin with a door
The green of water and the grey of lemon
And the red and brown of something cooking
Came from a crack at the base of the door
It was too low for me to see inside
But I can hear the sound of metal clinging
I'm not afraid
Though I know I should be
I just don't care anymore
Back toward the forest
The blue of night was pushing at evenings pink
And was winning as it always did
I sensed the yellow grey of my cousins
Who were watching me from a distance
Grey purple of dirt
And under grounders forcing their way along
In their own darkness
The red brown orange is very strong now
And comes through a crack in the door
In torturous ways
And the waves are like heavy magnetised air
With hypnotic song
That coursed through the emptiness
And chased away all reasoning
I'm pushed against the crack and it gives
Now red, brown, orange, green, grey are almost solid
And engulf my senses like swimming in a warm pond in daylight
And blue, grey, green, yellow, purple are completely gone
And I'm lost in another world
I'm not afraid
Though I know I should be
I just don't care anymore
I just don't care anymore
