Why Can't I Ever Sleep Enough?
Every morning
I have to tell myself to get up
Got a lot of stuff to do
But my eyes won't open
And my legs are frozen
I ain't even got a morning wood
Cause every evening
I have to tell myself to get off
The internet it's sucking me dry
My eyes are locked
And my phone is docked
As I put the real life on stand-by
There is only one thing
That is stopping me
Tomorrow I'll wake up at 7:20
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
If it's not my alarm
It's somebody else's
Or a truck and trailer thundering by
A guy with a chainsaw
Or lawnmower leaf blower
Military pilot learning to fly
So in the evening after work
All I wanna do
Is look around for some virtual fun
And in the middle of the night
When everyone's asleep
I'm still laughing at some stupid pun
There is only one thing
That is stopping me
In a few hours I'll wake up at 7:20
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Fortunately there's something
That can save me
The earplugs that the lord
Himself has given to me
So all you guys and girls
That don't know silent nights
From now on you'll
All be distant history
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
Why can't I ever sleep enough?
