Sub Connections

Frankie Plato-Beale, Jennifer Achonu, Julian Frank

Through these walls you can still hear everything
I hear them all from behind concrete walls

Hear them all from behind concrete walls
Those calls of the renegade fellow slaves
From their multi-floor caves
These engaged breas who slave over musical staves
Those urban braves that ride sonic waves
To control their self made wild eye gaze
That's why the ways stay locked in the pen lines
But by the time the ink dries
Every letter buys a word to the wise
So when will realise
Dipping into visions man I'm flicking channels on the flippin' television
Hunted by depression from the media's position
Checking their projection, the aim is saturation
By a means of penetration to the nation's generation
So forsaken by the Statesmen
The politicians who use the media as their ammunition
Now they wage war against their own civilian population
Culling down the numbers with freedom by dimming down the light of illumination

They bring me so much noise
That I can't hear a single voice
Let me get you some entertainment
Drag you up off from your place on the pavement

I find myself desperately disappearing
Into the bottom of bottles of vodka and aspirin
To try and blur my visions and eradicate the feelings of the memories that I'm seeing
I still wake up screaming at ghosts
On the most part I'm just trying to justify my heart to my head
As certain words said
Come back to haunt me
More and more these days
I'm frequently reminded of my progression, into becoming a man but my need to remain a kid
So now priceless
Me having a premature mid-life crisis like this
My soul's alive it's my body that's feeling lifeless
I can be rejuvenated by a vodka with a lime twist
And the need to flash my new pair of Nike ticks
With a promise of a night out and antics and top tricks with my true clique
As we skip, trip and then slip from being thick as thieves where no one leaves without the other
And a bandless brother who sees another
Gutter fallen quitter that makes him bitter
And begins to litter his liver with liquor quicker
Making his life taste that little bit sicker

There has to be a little more
Must be more than tryin' beat the high score
Let me get you some entertainment
Drag you up off from your place on the pavement
