Come Together
Fighting, the same fight
That we're still fighting amongst ourselves
Everybody gotta come together
Through the cold, the sick, the trauma and the rainy weather
We all got the same father, that means y'all my brothers
And until the end of covid, we just got each other
Look, everybody gotta come together
Through the cold, the sick, the trauma and the rainy weather
As a country, and a world, we must all do better
And to all those suffering, this is my love letter
As we look back at our pasts
All the knives, that were put into our backs
All the times, that they used your love against you
They might let you play cards, but you know the deck is stacked
And the decks always been stacked
We cannot love each other, if we don't open our ears
I'll love you like a brother, talk it out over a beer
You've got your own story, I'll be quiet, let me hear it
We all got our opinions, each experience is valid
Agree to disagree, I know this can be a challenge
But we're not made to yell and bicker, cry over spilled milk
Look at me, I'm a Christian, but I wish atheists well
Look at me, I'm a democrat, but I love my hicks too
We disagree, but love each other, and we love you too
We can't agree on everything, this has to be okay
Lay off cancel culture, instead send guidance their way
Everybody gotta come together
Through the cold, the sick, the trauma and the rainy weather
We all got the same father, that means y'all my brothers
And until the end of covid, we just got each other
Look, everybody gotta come together
Through the cold, the sick, the trauma and the rainy weather
As a country, and a world, we must all do better
And to all those suffering, this is my love letter
Anybody know what this place is?
This is Gettysburg
This is where they fought the Battle of Gettysburg
Fifty thousand men died right here on this field
Fightin' the same fight that we're still fightin' amongst ourselves today
This green field right here was painted red, bubblin' with the blood of young boys
Smoke and hot lead pourin' right through their bodies
Listen to their souls, men
I killed my brother with malice in my heart
Hatred destroyed my family
You listen, and you take a lesson from the dead
If we don't come together, right now, on this hallowed ground
We too will be destroyed
