The Mysterious Bubble Of The Turkey Swamp
The surface of the turkey swamp is used to sitting still
Then a temporary bubble came from the mouth of the bluegill
And the bubble shifted everything that was just floating along
And it would never be the same again so I hold it in
In my song
And I finally found the pearl inside my body
It was plastic and bound with tape
And I finally got around to listening to Nebraska
You're right, it is great
And everything sounds beautiful when you're driving in the sunset on the turnpike
It's a watercolor factory daydream, repeating, and dying
And the last time I saw Nancy was at Port Authority
All the cold lights and roaming pigeons could not throw her symmetry
She was here and now she's gone
Well I am not afraid of the summer's heat nor the winter's frozen stars
I found solace in letting go control of what we are
And yes I love you deep down under but I don't know how I'll feel
Tomorrow
One day I woke up and realized I was in a song
And I am just a feather and I don't have to be "strong"
And I won't ever find the answers 'til I realize nothing's wrong
I'm just a back and forth of circumstance colliding, repeating, and dying
And the last time I saw Nancy was at Port Authority
Heading home to see my cousin and her newborn baby
Now she's a year old and she's walking
And after all these years on earth I still don't know a thing
Are we the temporary bubbles in the rising of the spring?
One day I'll know for sure but each day 'til then is for learning
That the only way to love again is breathing in
