The shadow lurks behind the mask of insanity
Where once serenity reigned but now is not to be
The deafening silence is the calm before the storm
The dreamslayer rises to claim another soul

Steel claws rip and shred through skin
Jaws snap shut and trap you within
The fear takes hold as the blood spatters
The dream collapses and all but shatters
His presence forever cloaked in sin
Evoking visions of the end
An existence that is not humane
Of when you dream no more again

The war inside your head is the beginning
Your dreams are slain before you awaken
Your life is hanging on by a prayer
Answered only by the dreamslayer

He bides his time and strikes
And slays your dreams tonight
He takes no prisoners
As you rest in peace
Nightmares come and go
He drags you down below
Six feet under lies
The grave where your dream dies
