Damn Good Day

I woke up with a headache, it's been bugging all day long
Cuz last night I stayed up too late just scrolling on my phone
Looked like a zombie when I made my cup of coffee extra black
Spilled some caffeine on these MIDI keys as I sat to make this track
But it seemed to perk it's energy that it craved for oh so long
And once that melody came in I lost my senses to the song
I got higher than Snoop Lion, as the lyrics hit the deck
A demon tried to take me off the path but I punched her in the neck

Bills are due on Monday, and I'm broke more or less
I got late fees piling on my desk and my taxes are a mess
I spend way too much on celebrating every chance I get
Though I got no money saved away, hey, at least I'm not in debt
Yeah my family's got things covered in the case I don't survive
If and when I'm truly starving Mother Nature doth provide
And my baby mama hates the fact that I can't cut her a check
But she hopes and dreams and still believes that my time is coming yet
