I'll feed you all the sunlight till your heart has filled
I'd take you on a walk but I haven't a leash
I want to take you nowhere with me
Sweet cactus flower will you wilt in this heat?
I'd move you to a spot it wasn't a hundred degrees
I'd take you for a ride but I have no booster seat

Sitting all your days as the world flies by
Longingly you watch all the fun outside
I'd take you in my hand but your sharp thorns bite
I'd love to take you nowhere tonight
Sweet succulent before my curtains close
I couldn't bear to see you so afraid so alone
I went down to the store and picked out an aloe plant
To love you and go nowhere, my friend
