Liquid Prayer

Drowning in this liquid prayer
Lord, I'm down here in this vale of tears
A slippery slope
Crying to cope
Hope against hope
That I can hold on

Jesus wept, my God was crying
Who kept the faith when He was dying?
Call Him, my friend
You can depend
I know in the end
It's all in His Hands

My broken heart I give to you
Trusting you'll know what to do
I know that You heal
I know that You care
I know that You hear
I know that You're there
Incline Thee thine ear
Oh, Lord and hear

Tears of sorrow, tears of joy
Desperation's final ploy
We labor in vain
In penitent pain
Compassion like rain
Falling over and over again
