Window Pain
There's a dimple in my head
On the right side
And I rub it from time to time
It reminds me of a window pane
I was five and wanted to play
Chasing some boy down the street
I didn't see what was in my way
Broken glass, a beach of silica grains
Reflecting sunlight and good times
Went into the window pane
But from that time I don't remember being hurt
Just the freedom, in my shorts and an old t-shirt
I don't see no window pane, no blood coming from my brain
I don't remember feeling any pain
On that day I hit my head
But all that’s left
Is the laughter we had instead
And all the fun we had
So let me keep that in mind for the next heartbreak
That the memory of pain
It can turn into a good time
It’s all broken glass, a beach of silica grains
Reflecting sunlight and good times
Went into the window pane
But from that time I don't remember being hurt
Just the freedom, in my shorts and an old t-shirt
I don't see no window pane, no blood coming from my brain
I don't remember feeling any pain
