How The Tiger Got Its Stripes!
In the time before our remembrance,
before the world became as it is today,
the tiger was the God’s most beautiful creation, among all.
One day, the tiger was looking into the river,
at his reflection.
Aaaaa unbelievable!!!
What a macho tough guy!
My sharp claws, long fangs,
big paws, and my beautiful golden skin.
No animal can match my charm.
Said the tiger to himself.
Tiger was not afraid of anybody,
but the water-buffalo, who had a majestic body,
and sharp horns.
He was not only afraid,
I always envy this big fella.
Not to the level of my machoness, anyway.
One day, the pride tiger had to come ,
across an unimaginable sight of the water-buffalo,
working in the fields, lead by a man.
Holly molly!
Such a majestic animal,
lead by such a disgusting and weak creature.
I pity him.
Later that day,
Hey, buff,
I wonder why you even listen to that silly creature.
He doesn’t even look like he has,
the power to rule us.
Silly creature? You mean the man?
Yes, yes, the man.
Remember, humans are always ahead of us.
They’ve got the wisdom.
And, that is why I work for him.
So, where do I get the wisdom?
You better go and ask him.
Said the water-buffalo, and left.
The next day,
the man was looking after his cattle,
and the tiger jumped in front of him, suddenly.
And, the man started shivering.
Hey, man, give me your wisdom or I’ll kill you.
Wi.. Wi.. Wisdom! I don’t know what
do you mean.
Don’t pretend like you don’t know.
Give me your wisdom,
or I’ll eat you, right away.
The man thought for a while,
Okay, okay, I’ll give you.
But, I have left my wisdom in my home.
I will bring that to you.
Hmmm. Okay. Go, right now!
But, tiger I’m afraid that you might eat my goats.
I’m not hungry now and your goats
are skinny.
Will you please allow me to tie,
just the tip of your tail to the huge tree.
The tiger thought for a while.
Alright, you shall.
The man tied the tail of the tiger to the tree, and then,
Oh, tiger,
I’m still afraid that you might turn to be fierce,
and rip my goats with your mighty paws.
Alright, alright!
Good that you’re afraid of me.
Okay, you can tie my paws to the tree.
And, the man did so,
Finally, tiger, one more thing is still left.
Argh! What is that even?
I’m still afraid that you might release yourself
with your mighty fangs and attack my goats.
Enough already!
Go ahead and do what you got to do.
The man tied the tiger’s head to the tree.
And, later, silently drove his cattle away,
and never returned.
The time rolled.
Tiger was waiting for a very long time.
The tiger was tied so tight,
that he pulled, and pulled, and pulled
until the fumes came out of the rope.
And, he released himself.
The rope had burnt stripes on him,
but he didn’t notice.
Oh, the goats they are gone!
Alright,
the man must be so scared even to return back.
What am I going to do with the wisdom of a scared man?
I’m still the macho, among all.
Later ,that day
Oh, nooo!
My b-e-a-utiful golden coat, it has gone.
The tiger couldn’t look at himself, anymore.
So, he ran and hid himself into the bushes.
Kids, what have you learned from the
story?
The tiger in the story got his stripes because he failed
to understand that wisdom is always
greater than external beauty.
So, kids, remember to stay wise, and stay content.
