Caught in a lonely life, walking at your own pace
With a cold mind and a stubborn heart, said you didn’t need grace
Thought your life and your path was set in it's place
You had no time or room for answers, you just knew you detested change
But now you’re re-thinking

You say you want a new beginning, you say you want a new start
You want those old memories, and the old you erased from your heart
But it’s kinda hard to forget who you are
You want a new beginning, but now how does one start?

Turn off the voice that says, you could be better if you tried
Like putting on a better show could earn God's favor, its wasted time
Yet you are striving, searching, straining, hardly breathing
Exhausted from trying to keep up that image, people pleasing
