There Come Our Mothers
Yes, when the rains finally come and the food grows in the fields
You can see everything change in the villages
People sing a little sweeter, they dance with more vigour
And the sounds of happy waterfalls, fill everyone with smiles
There are big celebrations in the villages
And, when the crops are harvested
One fine day, the mothers, take some of the extra food
And make a long long walk into to town
To trade for some special treats
As the children are doing their chores
The excitement starts to build
For they have not had treats for a long time
When the children finally see their mothers coming
Carrying bags and baskets on their heads
They run to meet them with this joyous song
