From the Grave
Preconceived notions
Projecting from your face
Don’t sound like an insult
When you tie it up in lace
You smile, I look away and try to justify
Your hopes, my dreams
They don’t coincide
Unstable
But I’m able to hold my ground
Unsteady
But I’m ready, I feel it all around me
You second guess, I won’t
You try to help, it don’t
Leave it unsaid
Uncertainty, a disease
One we always push against
No one has the answers
And that chips at our defense
You bring me down to where you are so you won’t be alone
We feel better when we’re not the only one
Unstable
But I’m able to hold my ground
Unsteady
But I’m ready, I feel it all around me
You second guess, I won’t
You try to help, it don’t
Leave it unsaid
Everybody wants to be a savior
Even if there’s nothing to save
Everybody wants to be a savior
Even if there’s nothing to save
They’ll bury you down
Just to raise you from the grave
