Fireflies

In the jar there were fireflies
And when their bodies turned black you cried
Cursing someone who'd take away
The living things that you wanted for your play
On the beach there were pails and sand
A helium balloon tied to your hand
Now from the Hamptons to Hollywood
Your pleasure's not as free as it should be
In your life there are living dolls
They can't say no and you want them all
Feeling good as you stretch your claws
And take refreshments that make you pause
