Sands of Time

Sometimes, I think about how the days can go so long
Things just come at me oh so fast, now they’re gone.
Oh I wish I could just slow down time, and enjoy for what they are
But alas, they seem to slip out of my grasps.

I keep traveling down this lonely road, every day and every night
No matter how I think, time just seems to hold its bite
Now I wish I could just turn back time, back to yesterday’s bright light

I keep walkin down this lonely path with me, myself and I
I ain’t got nobody to share this by my side
Maybe one person, a single soul, oh that would be just fine
A good friend, to share the stories of my life.

Now I stare up at the moonlight,
and it shines down on me
The winds seem to howl now, underneath.
The starlight they shine bright above,
a different story every night
I just wish for someone to share this, by my side.
