My Confessions
It seems my confessions
Sound more like impressions
Of beautiful plays on words
We'll never say those words
I know all the ways to say please
But we're still the same, you know
And all the songs we can't sing
They never sang, you know
You know
Redeemer, help me believe
In the life that you keep up your sleeve
Leave tracks through the snow
The hospital's cold and your blood dries so slow
Dressed down head to toe
And if it ain't so, I don't wanna know
You're tickled and here you complain
It ain't for the world to remember your name
Deceiver, help me believe
In the things that I used to deceive
It appears my confessions
Act more like misdirections
And the beautiful plays on words
Often betray those words
Know when to fall to my knees
Because that's how you pray, you know
And every song that we sing
We already sang, you know
You know
Redeemer, help me believe
In the life that you keep up your sleeve
And it'll be fine
As long as we learn how
To say the right lines
And cover the holes in our sighs
And say our goodbyes
Talk for the rest of our lives
Say our goodbyes
Talk for the rest of our lives
