When we finally reached the future it was the same as the past.
The point of time between the two was the part that didn't last.
It was coming for a long time, when it got here it was gone
They say that time is free, been paying for nothing all along.
They say time it runs like water, it was never gonna stay.
Been trying to dam up what was gone, when the current flowed away.
Now we're drowning in the past, instead of swimming in today.
The future ain't what it used to be, I heard the wise men say.
So I went out and looked around, saw tomorrow was yesterday.
It didn't matter that I existed, it's the same either way.
