Feels like I’m just drifting through space
Feels like I’m just drifting through space

You woke me to the world with every touch, since then nothing has moved me as much
You gave no explanation to your flight
You opened my eyes, now they’re shut tight
I never used my hands 'til they held yours, now they serve no purpose anymore
Except to be balled into futile fists trembling in all of their uselessness

And of all that came crashing through my eyes and projected backwards into my mind
And that caught my stare in all our shared time, from the murky dirt to the moonlit sky
And of all the places I’ve yet to go, and of all the faces I don’t yet know
And of everything that I’ve found of worth, both within myself or upon this Earth
As a spinning sphere at a random point, swirling at high speed in a yawning void
With its distances both so vast and wide that rather than miles its measured in time
In the mystery of that endless black, and in all its majesty staring back
I was left unmoved and left unimpressed, for despite its beauty I must confess:
That in all of this, the one sorry truth is I only saw we two, but now we’re through
