Where did all the green go, mother?
Is it lost forever?
I can’t see the sun
And it’s so hard for us to breathe
The rain hurts my skin
And my eyes burn in the air
If there’s a place apart from this
Mother, tell me where

Why did it come to this?
Tell me, who is there to blame?
Are their pockets filled with shame?
Greed, it closed our eyes
When we thought we looked so tall
But instead we’ve doomed us all

The kids all smoke now
Anymore, they just don't care
The heat, it slows me down
But I can't afford to think
Green eyes, shut your mouth
Cause there's nothing left to say
The trees are coming down
Brittle like our bones
