The Xmas Tree
They're taking down a Christmas Tree
That he planted as a little boy
It's overgrown its welcome and now it's time has come
The tree gave joy and shaded the sun
Provided memories of when he was young
Showed us just how much he'd grown
Today all its residence have flown
It's bittersweet for all involved
So many years of growth so quickly falls
It was home to many beautiful creatures
By Christmas they've found a new home
All good things must come to an end
His childhood tree has seen its last day
What will come from this new found space?
Only time will fill its place
Live and grow our day in the sun
With struggles a mighty we all must fall
The time will come
That we've all had our day in the sun
They're taking down a Christmas Tree
That he planted as a little boy
It's overgrown its welcome and now it's time has come
