All the lies that the papers said
You can't base your life on what you've read
It's safe and so sterilized

You'll beat the curve if you wait in line
Don't break your heart this time
And let it all unwind
Just what have we done?
We killed a mothers only son
Just to remain at number one
But I don't have time in my life for this
Stand at the brink of a precipice
And those same old fears arise
With eyes to drawn to counteract
The ghost in you comes rushing back
Too caustic to subside
We parade our benevolence block out the sun
Through decades of reveries still number one
