Oaken Halls of Sorrow
I close my eyes and hear the singers in my cells
All is lost to the winds of time
And close my ear and brace the last minute
Got through in the sorrow I can not define
I breathe in the autumn air
I lift my face to the sky
All I hear are echoes of despair
As I watch the seasons wither and die
Do the oaks feel insistent pain
Or the pines a familiar relief
And the aspens wet with the rain
Across the forest of this intouchable grace
Now I wonder on forever
Down these oaken halls of sorrow
Seeking solitude beyond them all
Through days of long and hollow
Fallen leaves paint the path I walk
Then branch and sneak away
Take a shelter from the sun
And days are far away
The beauty of this forest is to be
Through resuming adverse of falling leaves
It's song is one of sorrow and destroyed past
The time is gone and the memories always last
For all this time I have been searching
For white when skies are grey
All of the loss to time and sorrow
The sun put out my pain
As autumn leaves keep on dancing
And pay no heed to me
I journey through these wild rantings
It's all that I have left
For all this time I have been searching for why the skies are grey
All color lost to time and sorrow
The sun put out by pain
As autumn leaves keep on dancing and pay no heed to me
My journey through these wild landscapes is all that I have left
I come across a quiet river
That wanders through the trees
I stare into its running waters
And fall onto my knees
In resignation to the forest
That's held me for so long
I close my eyes and drift away into nature's evensong
