Solar Energy/Urban Punk

Evan Harris

Solar energy, Solar energy
Solar energy, Solar energy

Oh Lord, can ya see what they're doing to the world, that You made for us to live upon
I shouldn't act like I'm not degrading my mother's health
What on Earth is going on

I never thought that a sad song I wrote
Would indicate the current state of the world
Millions of people who don't get the fact
That the world can't exist, without the Earth

High gas rates and monster hurricanes
Are just the tip of the iceberg, melting in me
We need to save our kids, and the future
Good job kid, but we still need more than just thee
Solar energy, Solar energy
Solar energy, Solar energy (Yeah. We need more than just)
Solar energy, Solar energy
Solar energy, Solar energy

The president did a thing in October, Regarding
Climate change, and it could help us all
He signed us on to the Paris Agreement, we can help
Put a cap on pollution at large

We're making moves to ensure that the Earth
Remains a safe place for the boys and the girls (All the boys and girls)
Gotta protect the foundation we've built
From those who break it try to shake it or swirl (Ayo, show 'em what we got now!)

High gas rates and monster hurricanes
Are just the tip of the ice shelf, melting in me (the ice shelf?)
We need to save our kids, and the future
Good job kid, but we still need more than just thee
Solar energy, Solar energy
Solar energy, Solar energy (Yeah. We need more than just)
Solar energy, Solar energy (Why?) (It never runs out)
Solar energy, Solar energy

So used to seeing this sporadic mercury
Good agreement, we must not squander it certainly
Gotta show each other what we're doing subsequently
'Cause if we don't stop, then you'll be hearing this frequently
"Oh dear, another lost soul on the lava streets
My good man, will you recover his, body for me?"
"Of corpse"
First the bees, then the birds and the trees
Enough to bring the whole world to its very knees
Ran out of Mary, and the dope and now hope
Forget the Earth, we what we gonna do to cope

Stanza at the end, I'll sythesize a trope
At the Vatican, I almost saw The Pope
Well I didn't, but the next time that I go
I'll be on a plane that don't give off that CO
2
Are you planning to do your part to
Heal the Earth and make, the world strong too
Venus ain't a place, that the world should long to
Be
Why don't we reverse it, if you want to?

Yeah. February something
2016

Just got accepted into UTA
I am currently a high school T.A
I wear suits to school
Man, I look so cool
Come commencement, I'm switching everything up to wool

Graduated, got at least 2 pairs of jeans
This whole year kinda proved that I'm the king of memes
I got beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes
Whips and nae-nae's, Juans and Quans
Jokes, Biden, Drake, U NAAAAAAME IT!
It's just my sense of humor. I can't tame it

College life, you value a dime
And this whole year, I'm wasting your time, or am I
Too much social media, now
And I just need a break, so my grades aren't falling down

Rates are falling down

At last we've reached the present
All in all, I think the year's been pleasant
Up and down, my heroes are dying
But in my own life? Man, I'm just flying

You aren't loosing sight of the world's problems
