Desiderata
As I think how I’ll spend my ninety-year holiday
My mind becomes flooded with dreams I wish to attain
Years pass, desires grow, even though I have more than most
I want to be a rock n’ roll star, and to live on the Spanish coast
But when I’m with you
Those dreams fade away
At times I aspire to have, a life with abundant wealth
But do I lead a richer life, with a car that can drive itself?
When I’m with you
Those thoughts sail away
I speak the truth
When I say
You’ve become my desiderata
Why did I contain jealousy?
Towards those with lives, of which I dreamed
But I have now disposed, my opulent views
Because all I need, is a life with you
As the day retires it’s light, it’s you I wish to be next to
‘Cause when I awake at your side, the lark always sings in tune
Just to be with you
The rest of my days
I speak the truth
When I say
You’ve become my desiderata
You’ve become my desiderata
You’ve become my desiderata
You’ve become my desiderata
