Bad Bet
I'm a bad bet
Though no one is cooler
Once the minimums have been met
My ante is healthy but my uncle is ill
I'd go all-in flush, but there's a house that might fill
The chance that this joker
Turns the queen on
the river is all wet
That's a bad bet
I'm a bad bet
My roots are all square and my
Cat-lives are no nonet
If I have an angle, it's obtuse like a fist
And tangents of mine? the limit does not exist
Hey maybe the odds
Will just even out
I'll get real with the rational set
But that's a bad bet
'cause I'm the one they leave
The hand they never hold
Sometimes they walk away and sometimes they run
They count the cost and fold
I'm a bad bet
I was a thorough breadwinner
But I lost my true blue brunette
I'm off to the races but I keep losing track
Of the show and the place and the wind at my back
The oddsmakers mark
their books and report
that I'm the safest yet
But yet
I'm still a bad bet
