You're Like the Water [With Maverick Sabre]
Sometimes I’m blind, I don’t realize that I’ve won a prize,
That prize is you, solid and true,
What did I do, to deserve heaven,
Heaven is friends, there till the end, you’re like the 7,
The 7 Salt seas, a life giving tree,
Strong enough to leave this war
Together in evening sun
Fighting for some dignity
Don’t let them tell you what to be.
You’re like the water, and I am the boat that you keep afloat,
You give support yeh, and sail me away to beautiful bays
Some are so kind, although they’ve been through,
The worst kind of blue, hell in their mind,
And yet they’ll help you, in all that you do
They give support yeh, they are heroes, that nobody knows,
They hoist us up yeh,we stand shoulder high, with tears of sweet joy,
Legendary people fight, across this world tonight,
Fighting for some dignity, pushing back the powers that be
Your like the water, and I am the boat that you keep afloat,
You give support yeh, and sail me away to beautiful bays
Mick Stafford AKA Maverick Sabre is a wonderful young soul singer out of New Ross/Stoke Newington and I've learned a lot from his great phrasing and wonderful tone. He's a great reggae singer aswell and we thought he'd enjoy our 'Little Gangster Boy' vibe from the credits of the movie Cardboard Gangsters. He came up with a great analogy over the track about water and support and I came up with a body of lyrics about something I feel strongly about. Young men like him give me faith in the future of music, he's a gallant Gael and I'm thrilled with his success and attitude.
