Across the room I try to hear you above the rest
I catch a word and the rest I have to guess
String them along, now I'm chipping with the best
But your raised hand says wait
like it's time to take some vow
to be captured by some light
to walk the floor never reaching for the door
to follow the thread even knowing where it led
Feels like the morning of the summer's longest day
Go out into the crowd, let them lead the way
They're walking to the end because they've got someone to save
No it won't sound like a trumpet on the hillside
More like going round the wavering start of the B side
But your raised hand says wait
