Airport Song
ticketless travel mimicking gravel with minutes to babble
finish and i grab hold of limericks in my saddle
i wish i had a rattle to tattle like security does
a song to sound off impurity buzz
metal detectors unsettling sensory receptors
i wish they gave me a nectar instead of that lecture
because i'm hungry for fruit and i already knew about the no change in
pockets
(earlier i took a shit in the cockpit)
dressed at best for me hoodie and pants fitting loosely
but how i'd love to be wearing buggle boy or stussy
sometimes i miss the decade of the nineties
barely half the eighties in my memory but i'm happy with my timing
but i'm rapping about you not minding me on the floor
map in on your palm pilot i was at gate C4
but the next gate down there will be someone else around
that'd piss you off the same cause you're looking for your pants browned
this place is full of impatience on the brain
everyone pulling for placement on the plane
fast pacing and racing just the same
first i came and went then i went and came
aisle seat look at me, i'm not frowning
i was able to stay away from the "don't wants" of my surrounding
i get a snack later now i capitalize on my practice
annoyed the people on board with my voice, now it's pens for passion
i guess people in public can't handle words in action
but lately it's been gaining me further satisfaction
i guess that's just what happens when you're doing what you love
you're not even worried about the faces looking at you from above
waiting for the sign for the bathroom to shine my eye
i can't have another passenger pass me by
i drank a lot of water this morning and other than the plane
tokeless brownies got me soaring
can't even hear the sleeping people snoring
i'm harmonizing with the hum of the plane ignoring boring
enjoying conversation with the man next to me
a new piece of knowledge every direction i speak
