The ocean is so quiet
You would think it's dead
Black oil sheen, my friends
The great bears gone

You threw me
Into the ice-cold water
The future is melting
The kiss of the sea
Biting into my bones
She loved me more

Yet I rise, I rise coming from the deep
You can't stop me
My body is the water
My hair is the waves

I tried to hang on
But you cut my fingers
My blood populated the sea
I made my own family
I need you less than you need me

You want to kill me
With your poisonous gifts
Bags floating like jellyfish
Plastic pearls around my neck
You always took what you wanted

And called it love
I rise coming from the deep
