I brought you daffodils
When you were sick in bed
Didn't think you'd think what I thought
As I handed you the yellow stems

But you touched my hand
And everything went green
Like the mountain side in spring
The whole world at out feet

Heard my heart beat slow
I miss you already
Watched you drive away
Did I speak out, a little too loudly today

Told you if you wanted, we could meet for coffee
Not gonna lie, it took a little bit of time
Finally spat it out, told you what was on my mind

Wish I knew the outcome, would've kept my mouth closed
It's not that you, quite honestly said no
My friends assure me you're madly in love
You're so confusing, God I need a sign from above

I brought you daffodils, and now I regret the move
I made yesterday afternoon
Now I'm all up in my head, can't seem to get up out of my bed
