In This World Together

It used to be hard for me
To advocate for me
Silencing my needs
For the needs of others
But when I saw it spill into
Resentment and discontent
I knew it wasn't just about me

Cuz we all are living in this world together

I used to put off taking care of myself
Equating taking time with selfishness
Cuz I thought I could always do more
But I didn't see, it made a weaker friend of me

Cuz what we feel, we all feel
When we live in this world together

And its so easy to see
We are community
And if you depеnd on me
Then I gotta take carе of me

Cuz if one falls, we can all fall
When we live in this world together

Its hard to see the value
In what we take for granted
And a lot of us
Take ourselves for granted
But if your a friend to yourself
You'll see that dialogue
Does not show the kindness of you

So we gotta be not taking anyone for granted
When we live in this world together

And I know it's hard
To see yourself
As a place of value
Just like anyone else but
Just know
We live in this world together
