Crevies

The things you were so certain of
They fall apart beneath your touch
Forgiven and forgotten,
Maybe I, maybe I just knew too much
But however little I had known wouldn't have changed a single thing
And I lay here hoping, wandering alone, awaiting
For something more, for another word
For all the words you once birthed were only empty crevices

That I fell into, like a trap succeeding
They pulled me down so deep so deep,
Gravity has since gotten ahold of me
And here I stay, free falling now

Deep into the shadows as it gets dark
Free falling into nothing more for nothing lays beneath
And suddenly I reach the ground in time to see
To look up through my swollen eyes, shattered ribs and begging knees
To see you walk away up there a million miles from me
Walking away from the edge of the crevice
The crevice you once made for me
